Business operating system & workflow architecture
Christine's work arrived as one weekly Slack message, and progress was reported back by message. She built a Notion operating system around a single task database: a /task skill turns the weekly summary into structured records, status changes post to Slack automatically, a daily brief lists due and pending work, and an Executive HQ opens with the decisions waiting on management. A standard SOP template brings procedures into one format.

One message, many operations areas
The business owner assigns Christine's work as one weekly Slack message: a numbered summary spanning accounting, website tracking, marketing, lead follow-up, product registration, timesheets and events (E-01). Progress was reported back by message, so management had to chase updates (E-02).
Procedures were written in differing layouts, with no common fields for owner, review date or escalation (E-08 vs E-09).
- 01Turn one weekly summary into prioritised, structured task records
- 02Report progress to management without them chasing updates
- 03Separate items awaiting a management decision from ordinary work
- 04Start each day from one list of due and pending work
- 05Document procedures in one SOP format with owner, review and escalation
